Viagra time to action and duration of action

Categories: Viagra Canada

To determine Viagra time to action and its duration of action two randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover studies were held. The men involved in the study were diagnosed with ED of different causes.

The first study gave the following results: the time to start of erections after Viagra in the dose of 50 mg (recommended for most patients) with sexual stimulation was evaluated in 17 patients. The median time to action was 27 min (ranging from 12 to 70 minutes) post dose. More than 70% of men reported the time to action within 30 min after dose.

The second study was to assess the duration of erections in the grades: hard enough for penetration and absolutely hard erections, measured by self-assessment during 60 min of sexual stimulation post dose. The 16 patients of this study were administered Viagra 100 mg.

The average duration of erections was 20 min (ranging from 0 to 55 minutes) 2 hours post dose. The average duration was 5 min (0–45) 4 hours post dose.

Viagra is an effective oral treatment for ED that helps to achieve a hard enough erection as early as 12 min for some patients. For most patients the onset of action occurs within 30 min post dosing. The duration of action lasts at least 4 hours post dose.
