The Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center led the group of couples in which males were asked to provide the semen samples for the evaluation of the amount of the sperm. They were also asked to keep a diary of their physical activity and its frequency.

The study authors confirmed that men engaged in moderate to occupational physical activity were having higher amounts of sperm concentrations.
The figures support the findings: more than 40 % of men who took part in some physical activity had higher sperm levels in comparison to those who did not fulfill any physical minimum daily.
Such activities as weightlifting and atheletics directly magnify the level of sperm by increasing testosterone amount in blood. Besides, it was found that the physical activity increases the insulin sensitivity which has a direct influence on the level of sperm.
